France introduces tough fines for unsolicited telemarketing calls

France has banned unsolicited telemarketing calls under a new law to protect consumers and shield vulnerable people from fraudulent commercial practices. Individuals who make illegal calls can be fined up to €75,000 per call once the new law comes into effect on Tuesday, 11 August.
