Ile-de-France region files suit for compensation over Fontainebleau forest fire

The Ile-de-France regional council this week launched a civil law suit over the recent wildfire which decimated more than 2,000 hectares of the Fontainebleau forest, south of Paris. A criminal investigation has been opened into the blaze, which the national forestry office says caused significant environmental damage.
